On July 3, according to a report from South Korean media outlet ChosunBiz (published on July 2 local time), Samsung Foundry—which had previously faced losses due to underutilized capacity—has now shifted to selectively accepting new customer orders. This move signals that the foundry market has transitioned into a phase dominated by suppliers. Sources disclosed that Samsung Foundry's production capacity for the advanced 4nm process node is nearly fully booked for the current year, with next year's capacity already fully reserved as well. Meanwhile, certain critical 8nm process capacities are also nearing full utilization. Furthermore, reports indicate that Samsung Foundry is sufficiently confident to implement price increases of 15–20% for select processes.
