On July 1, GF Securities released a report stating that Google has chosen MediaTek to develop its ninth-generation Tensor Processor Unit, TPUv9 (codenamed Triggerfish), thereby replacing Broadcom and Qualcomm. As a result, Broadcom will no longer hold the exclusive supplier status for Google's TPU design orders. MediaTek secured this opportunity thanks to its advanced high-speed transmission interface technology. The TPUv9 is anticipated to commence mass production in 2027 and achieve significant scale by 2028, further cementing MediaTek's role in Google's TPU supply chain.
