On July 1, Lion Microelectronics disclosed during an investor research event that its monthly production capacity for 6-inch substrates and polished wafers has soared to 750,000 units. The majority of these are processed into 6-inch epitaxial wafers for subsequent shipment. The substrates required for the company's epitaxial wafer production are entirely self-produced, enabling independent control and a closed-loop supply chain. The 8-inch market presents significant potential, with certain segments still reliant on imports, thus offering ample opportunities for domestic substitution. At present, Lion Microelectronics boasts a robust order book for 8-inch heavily doped epitaxial wafers. The company is strategically positioning itself in the advanced process sector. Its Jiaxing facility is dedicated to producing 12-inch lightly doped polished wafers for advanced processes at 28nm and below, along with complementary lightly doped epitaxial wafers. These products are primarily aimed at customers in the analog and logic chip sectors. Currently, the company has successfully achieved mass supply of silicon wafers for 28nm logic chips.
