SK Telecom to Purchase Shares in SK Hynix’s U.S. Unit for KRW 397.1 Billion

On June 29, filings from the Korea Exchange revealed that the board of directors at SK Telecom has made the decision to acquire 642 newly issued shares in SK Hynix’s U.S. subsidiary, namely SK hynix NAND Product Solutions Corp. This acquisition will be conducted through a cash transaction, with the shares valued at approximately KRW 397.1 billion (equivalent to around USD 257 million). Upon completion of the deal, SK Telecom will secure a 0.62% ownership stake in the subsidiary. SK Telecom explained that this strategic move is designed to foster synergies with its AI business and further its strategic positioning in the realm of NAND solutions. The acquisition is projected to be finalized by July 23, 2026.
