On June 26, 2026, Zhengzhou High-Tech Zone and CAS Powder Research (Henan) Superhard Materials Co., Ltd. officially inked an agreement, heralding the launch of China’s inaugural full industrial chain project for fourth-generation semiconductor materials—the CAS Powder Research Fourth-Generation Semiconductor Materials Production Base—in Zhengzhou High-Tech Zone. Drawing on CAS Powder Research’s globally groundbreaking LPPHT micro-nano diamond production line technology, the base is set to achieve independent R&D, production, and large-scale mass production of core materials for fourth-generation semiconductors. The project entails a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, boasting the capacity to manufacture 2-4 inch single-crystal wafers using 500 MPCVD equipment units and produce micro/nano spherical diamonds through 50 LPPHT production lines. It is anticipated that 200 MPCVD equipment units will be operational by the end of this year, with an annual output value projected to hit 3 billion yuan and tax revenue reaching 300 million yuan within three years. The base will join forces with the ‘Central South University—CAS Powder Research Fourth-Generation Semiconductor Materials R&D Center’ to forge a comprehensive innovation system spanning ‘basic research—technological breakthroughs—commercialization—large-scale production,’ thereby accelerating Henan’s transformation from a ‘major diamond production province’ to a ‘powerhouse of high-end functional materials.’
