Cailian Press, June 27 - Yu Weining, the Chief Statistician of the Industrial Department at the National Bureau of Statistics, offered an in-depth analysis of the profit data pertaining to industrial enterprises for the period from January to May 2026. He highlighted the electronics industry's pivotal role in bolstering these figures. During this timeframe, the profits of equipment manufacturing enterprises above a designated size experienced a 14.1% year-on-year increase, thereby propelling the overall profit growth of all industrial enterprises above the designated size by 5.2 percentage points. Notably, the global shift towards artificial intelligence technology has ignited a significant uptick in demand for high-end computing chips and storage chips. This trend has fueled a remarkable 103.9% surge in profits within the electronics industry. Consequently, this sector has made an outstanding contribution of 43.1% to the profit growth of all industrial enterprises above the designated size, emerging as a crucial catalyst for its swift expansion.
