On June 12, a blaze erupted at the M15X facility, situated within the fourth industrial park of Cheongju City in North Chungcheong Province, South Korea, which is operated by SK Hynix. This incident represents the second accident to occur at the site this month. Earlier, on June 1, another fire broke out in the same industrial park, coupled with a minor fluorine leak. Fortunately, the most recent fire caused no injuries or fatalities. SK Hynix reported that its production operations remain unaffected and are proceeding as usual. Nevertheless, the event could potentially ripple through the global memory chip market.
