Recently, the research team headed by Professor Chen Tao from the School of Chemistry and Materials Science at the University of Science and Technology of China has achieved notable advancements in the realm of antimony-based thin-film photovoltaic technology. Focusing on the significant open-circuit voltage loss observed in Sb2Se3 solar cells, the team introduced a carrier polarity control strategy grounded in composition adjustment. This approach enabled the creation of a p-n homojunction structure within the Sb2Se3 absorber layer. This groundbreaking development bolsters the device's inherent electric field and effectively curtails non-radiative recombination, working in tandem to elevate the device's overall performance. The relevant research results have been published in the esteemed journal Nature Photonics.
