During the 2026 Taipei International Computer Exhibition, Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, made a significant announcement: the company is set to team up with MediaTek to make a splash in the personal computer processor arena. Together, they will unveil the 'RTX Spark' superchip, which is built on the Arm architecture. This innovative chip seamlessly combines a CPU with an RTX graphics unit and is compatible with Microsoft's Windows on Arm operating system. NVIDIA's ambition is clear—to shake up Intel's stronghold in the PC processor market and propel the widespread adoption of AI-powered PCs. Leading PC makers like Dell and Lenovo are on board, with plans to roll out laptops and desktops powered by this chip from this autumn onwards. This strategic move signifies NVIDIA's evolution from a standalone GPU provider to a comprehensive PC computing platform solutions company.
