On June 1, NVIDIA announced that Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceX will be the first major users of its upcoming microprocessor, securing key customers for its expansion in the AI data center sector. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated that these companies will be the first to adopt NVIDIA's Vera central processing unit in their data centers, with the product expected to reach full production in the third quarter of this year. Vera is NVIDIA's first standalone data center microprocessor, set to directly compete with rivals such as Intel Xeon, AMD Epyc chips, and Amazon Graviton. Huang revealed that in AI-related foundational workloads, Vera delivers 1.8 times the performance of chips based on Intel's x86 technology, marking NVIDIA's first direct performance challenge to industry-standard products.
