NVIDIA Makes Foray into PC Market with RTX Super Chip, Driving Computer Modernization in the AI Age

On June 1, news broke that NVIDIA is set to introduce a novel chip, marking its entry into the personal computer market and posing a direct challenge to Intel's dominance in this arena. NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, unveiled at Computex Taipei that the cutting-edge RTX Spark super chip is slated for its debut this autumn in laptops and desktops from renowned brands like Dell Technologies and Lenovo Group. This innovative chip, blending the functionalities of a microprocessor and a graphics chip, is developed with the support of MediaTek and operates on Microsoft's Windows for Arm operating system.

The RTX super chip boasts a central processor with up to 20 compute cores and a graphics processor boasting 6144 cores. Both processors share integrated memory, enabling them to efficiently manage large AI models and high-end gaming applications. Leveraging NVIDIA's NVLink interface for communication, this chip brings the advanced technology of data centers into the personal computer sphere. Moreover, the chip's design will be fabricated by TSMC utilizing its state-of-the-art 3N process technology.
