Recently, Yanshan Technology celebrated the grand opening of its Deqing facility with an inauguration ceremony. The project, boasting an impressive annual production capacity of 3 million cutting-edge Micro LED display devices, officially marks the commencement of the world's first 8-inch silicon-based GaN Micro LED IDM mass production line. This line covers a comprehensive range of processes, from epitaxy to sophisticated packaging. This milestone signifies that China's Micro LED industry has successfully surmounted major manufacturing hurdles, ushering in a new era of large-scale production.
Established in 2022, Yanshan Technology is dedicated to the research, development, and mass production of Micro LED display chips. The company boasts core technologies in MOCVD material growth, semiconductor thin-film integration, hybrid bonding, and three-color vertical stacking. The newly launched mass production line is set to dramatically boost production capacity, drive down costs, and facilitate the widespread adoption of Micro LED technology in various fields, including AR glasses, micro-projection systems, commercial transparent displays, and smart wearable devices.
