The European Commission may propose as early as this week to temporarily exempt Yangjie Technology, a Chinese chip manufacturer, from sanctions in response to requests from European automakers to delay the ban due to insufficient supply chain diversification. The exemption, which requires approval from the 27 EU member states, could last for several months. Yangjie Technology was previously placed on the EU's sanctions list against Russia for allegedly supplying dual-use products or weapons systems to Russia.
