NVIDIA's financial report for the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year (data collected up until April 26, 2026) disclosed that its total quarterly revenue soared to a record $81.6 billion. This marks an impressive 85% increase year-on-year and a 20% rise quarter-on-quarter. However, the most striking feature of this report is the complete overhaul of its business segment categorization. The company has embraced a new reporting framework, categorizing its operations into two primary market platforms: 'Data Center' and 'Edge Computing.' This move aims to provide a clearer picture of its growth drivers. Within this new structure, revenue from the Data Center business skyrocketed to $75.2 billion, representing a remarkable 92% year-on-year surge and solidifying its position as the core growth engine. Meanwhile, revenue from the Edge Computing business reached $6.4 billion, showing a robust 29% increase year-on-year.
