Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan announced at the J.P. Morgan TMT Conference that the company's 14A process node (1.4-nanometer-class technology) is expected to enter risk trial production in 2028, with high-volume mass production slated for 2029. This process will be the first to utilize ASML's mass-production high-numerical-aperture extreme ultraviolet lithography equipment, delivering a 15%-20% improvement in energy efficiency and a 1.3x increase in chip density compared to the 18A node. Currently, Intel has delivered the 0.5 version of the process design kit to customers, with the 0.9 version set to launch in October 2026.
