On May 18, Bloomberg reported that Samsung Electronics is in negotiations with its largest labor union in an effort to prevent a strike at the world's largest memory chip manufacturer. If a strike occurs, the semiconductor supply chain could face severe disruption. Originally scheduled from May 21 to June 7, the strike involves over 45,000 employees. The court has approved some of Samsung's requests for injunctions, demanding that the strike must not affect production output. Negotiations between the two sides will continue until the next day, with the government warning that emergency arbitration measures may be employed to prevent the strike.
