According to industry insiders, South Korean manufacturers of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid, including Solbrain, ENF Technology, and Huseong, are set to supply electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid to semiconductor giants like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Notably, prices are projected to surge significantly during June and July. The primary driver behind this price escalation is the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz, which has disrupted the global sulfur supply chain. This disruption has subsequently led to a spike in sulfuric acid prices, thereby elevating the production costs of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid. These producers intend to supply semiconductor companies with anhydrous hydrofluoric acid after blending and purifying it with ultrapure water, a process essential for meeting the stringent quality requirements of the semiconductor industry.
