Based on the most recent research report issued by Daishin Securities, an investment bank in South Korea, the Foundry division of Samsung Semiconductor has successfully landed an order for 2nm notebook CPUs from a 'North American fabless client', a move that has sparked considerable interest. Although the report refrains from naming the client, insider Jukan hints that it might be AMD. This speculation aligns with prior rumors indicating that AMD is engaged in in-depth discussions with Samsung concerning the 2nm process. AMD is keen on securing multiple foundry partners to ease the strain caused by TSMC's limited production capacity. Notably, AMD's CEO, Lisa Su, made a personal visit to Samsung's foundry in Pyeongtaek to inspect its 2nm production line.
