As retail channels continue to disclose information, the new MSI Claw handheld gaming console, equipped with Intel's dedicated Arc G3 Extreme processor for handhelds, is set to hit the market soon. This new CPU and its integrated Arc B390 graphics have already appeared in benchmark databases ahead of schedule. According to the latest PassMark benchmark records, the Arc G3 Extreme demonstrates strong performance in both CPU and GPU aspects: it scored 29,622 points in multi-core performance and 4,288 points in single-core performance, surpassing the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme by approximately 25% in multi-core performance and leading by about 8% in single-core performance. In terms of CPU configuration, the processor adopts a 14-core, 14-thread 2+8+4 hybrid architecture, including 2 performance cores based on the Panther Cove architecture and 12 efficiency cores based on the Darkmont architecture (8 E-cores and 4 LPE-cores), with a base frequency of 3.7GHz, a boost frequency of 4.6GHz, 12MB of L3 cache, and 18MB of L2 cache. Regarding the integrated graphics, the Arc G3 Extreme is equipped with the Arc B390 GPU, which integrates 12 Xe3 cores. The GPU performance is over 50% higher than that of the Radeon 890M and the existing Arc 140V with 8 Xe2 cores, and it supports XeSS 3 and variable VRAM capacity technology. In terms of power consumption and platform optimization, the chip has a TDP range of 15 to 30W and supports LPDDR5x-9600 memory. Although its performance is on par with the 25W Core Ultra 5 338H, the Arc G3 Extreme is deeply optimized for low-power handheld gaming platforms. Additionally, the Italian e-commerce platform Ollo Store has prematurely listed the yet-to-be-officially-released MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld gaming console.
