Intel has rolled out the latest HotFix workstation driver, version 302.0.101.8517 (Q1.26 R2), tailored for its Arc Pro series graphics cards. This update fine-tunes memory allocation strategies, empowering users to allocate a larger portion—up to 93%—of system memory to Arc integrated GPUs. This enhancement is designed to facilitate the local execution of more extensive artificial intelligence large language models. Previously, Intel's drivers could harness up to roughly 87% of the system's memory. For instance, in a system with 32GB of memory, the GPU had access to approximately 28GB. With the new driver, this allocation has surged to around 92%, implying that a 32GB memory setup can now dedicate approximately 30GB to the GPU as video memory. This upgrade is predominantly targeted at Intel processors featuring built-in Arc Pro graphics cores, like the Arc Pro B390 and Arc Pro B370. Additionally, it is compatible with a range of Arc Pro professional graphics card products based on the Battlemage and Alchemist architectures.
