According to PC Watch, Japan's DIY market is currently witnessing a notable uptick in CPU prices, with substantial hikes observed across various AMD Ryzen processor models. The Ryzen 9000 series has been particularly hard-hit, with none of its models priced below the officially recommended price. Specifically, the Ryzen 7 9700X has experienced a significant 57.4% price increase, while the Ryzen 9 9900X has seen a 37.1% rise. Even the high-end X3D models have not been immune to these price adjustments. Moreover, the previous-generation Ryzen 7000 series, along with entry-level products, have also been subjected to varying degrees of price escalations. This current wave of price increases can be attributed to the AI industry's encroachment on semiconductor production capacity, resulting in a constrained supply for consumer hardware.
