On April 23, reports surfaced indicating that the CPU market is bracing for another wave of price hikes. According to ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) sources, since March of this year, prices for consumer electronics CPUs have escalated by 5% to 10%, while server CPU prices have soared by 10% to 20%. Insights from the supply chain suggest that major international tech companies are planning to implement further price increases in the third quarter.
Previously, Intel had already raised the prices of its PC CPUs in March and adjusted server CPU prices on April 1. Market analysts anticipate an additional price surge of 8% to 10% in the latter half of the year. As for AMD, market intelligence also points to price hikes for its server CPUs in both the second and third quarters, with a cumulative increase projected at 16% to 17%. The supply chain underscores that the CPU supply continues to be constrained, and the upward trend in prices is expected to persist.
