From the start of this year through April 21, the A-share market has been a hub of dynamic merger and acquisition (M&A) and restructuring activities. Listed companies have initially disclosed a total of 1,077 M&A and restructuring transactions, amounting to a transaction value of around RMB 350 billion. Among these, 31 cases involve major asset restructurings. This current wave of M&A and restructuring is characterized by a clear industrial focus, with targets predominantly located in strategically emerging sectors such as high-end manufacturing, artificial intelligence, computing infrastructure, and the digital economy. The transactions have primarily centered on achieving synergies with the main business, enhancing technological capabilities, and extending the industrial chain. Notably, there has been a significant decline in blind cross-industry moves and speculative hype.
