Recently, whispers in the tech sphere suggest that NVIDIA is gearing up to roll out 9GB variants of its RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 graphics cards, utilizing 3GB GDDR7 VRAM chips. This move is expected to take place from late May to early June in 2026. Upstream suppliers like Samsung and Micron are already equipped with the production capabilities for 3GB GDDR7, a resource that NVIDIA might tap into to ease the strain on VRAM supply and trim down costs.

However, this strategy comes with a trade-off. Opting for three 3GB VRAM chips will narrow the bit width from the standard 128bit to 96bit. This reduction could potentially slash bandwidth by anywhere from 14% to 25%, a change that might dent gaming performance, especially under strenuous conditions. As of now, NVIDIA has remained tight-lipped about the existence of these models. Some insiders even hint that the company might only be planning a 9GB version for the RTX 5050 graphics card, leaving the tech community eagerly awaiting official confirmation.
