Chinese chipmaker Yangtze Memory Technologies Co., Ltd. (YMTC) plans to construct a Phase III project in Wuhan, which is expected to be completed and put into operation by 2026. The Phase III project will continue NAND flash memory production while shifting half of its capacity to DRAM manufacturing and collaborating with domestic companies to develop high-bandwidth memory (HBM) products. After the project goes into operation, YMTC's total production capacity will significantly increase, potentially surpassing SK Hynix and Micron to become the third-largest global NAND Flash manufacturer, following only Samsung Electronics and Japan's Kioxia.
