On April 9, Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon, announced that the company is prepared to undertake substantial capital investments and tolerate short-term free cash flow constraints in pursuit of medium- to long-term financial gains. Presently, Amazon's chip division is generating annualized revenue in excess of $20 billion, with a year-on-year growth rate soaring into the triple digits. Should the chip division operate as a standalone entity and supply chips to AWS as well as other third-party clients this year, its annualized revenue is projected to approach approximately $50 billion.
