Arm Holdings Plc will venture into selling its own chips for the first time, with the business expected to generate annual revenue of approximately $15 billion within five years. On March 24, Arm announced in San Francisco that Meta Platforms will become the first major customer for its AGI CPU chip. The chip, featuring up to 136 cores and a power consumption of 300 watts, will be manufactured by TSMC. Arm has set ambitious sales targets, anticipating that revenue from the new chip business will surpass its current business, which primarily focuses on selling intellectual property. Arm stated that this will drive the company to achieve total annual sales of approximately $25 billion within five years, five times the current level.
