On March 20, Bloomberg reported that NVIDIA's $20 billion licensing agreement with AI startup Groq is under investigation by two Democratic senators. The investigation focuses on whether the agreement violates antitrust laws by circumventing merger and acquisition reviews and illegally consolidating NVIDIA's dominant position in the AI computing market. The senators have demanded that NVIDIA disclose details of the transaction and questioned whether its design is intended to evade review. Although Groq remains independently operated, most of its software engineers and hardware designers have joined NVIDIA.
