On March 19, TrendForce released a report indicating that two industry-leading wafer foundry giants, TSMC and Samsung Electronics, have decided to raise the prices of their primary advanced process technologies for AI chips, specifically those at the 5/4nm level. TSMC's production capacities at the cutting-edge 5/4nm, 3nm, and 2nm nodes are currently operating at full tilt, prompting the company to implement comprehensive price increases for its foundry services. Similarly, Samsung Foundry has experienced a notable surge in its 5/4nm order volume and has accordingly informed its customers of impending price hikes, set to take effect from the fourth quarter of 2025.
