On March 19, South Korea's 'Economic Daily' reported that Samsung Electronics plans to supply its next-generation HBM4 chips to OpenAI for its first in-house artificial intelligence processor. Previously, Samsung had signed a letter of intent to supply memory chips for OpenAI's data centers to meet the needs of its 'Stargate' project. According to industry sources, Samsung plans to supply up to 800 million gigabits of 12-layer HBM4 chips in the second half of this year.
