Chen Peng, the head of chip R&D at Horizon, is set to leave, with Vice President and Chief Architect Su Qing potentially taking over. Chen Peng oversaw the entire process of the main product Journey 6P, from design to mass production, but the key to determining Horizon's competitiveness in the next phase lies in the R&D of Journey 7, which is time-sensitive. Horizon's top management hopes the chip can adapt to the development of large models, with the basic design of BPU4.0 expected to be completed by April. Currently, automakers are accelerating their in-house chip development, and algorithm companies are also venturing into the chip sector. Although Horizon occupies a scarce ecological niche in domestic chips, competition is intensifying. Previously, Horizon promoted the mass production of its integrated software-hardware solution HSD and reshaped its ecological alliance at the beginning of the year, but the expansion of the ecosystem has also brought new conflicts. During the Beijing Auto Show, Horizon will launch a cockpit-driving integrated chip product, as cockpit-driving integration has become an industry trend. Against the backdrop of accelerated differentiation in the intelligent driving industry, Horizon needs someone who can drive results to market more quickly.
