On March 17, Chey Tae-won, the Chairman of South Korea's SK Group, remarked that the global chip wafer shortage is expected to continue until 2030. This is primarily attributed to the sustained demand for artificial intelligence technologies, which is outstripping the current supply capabilities. Chairman Chey disclosed that SK Hynix, a key subsidiary of the group, is currently assessing the feasibility of issuing American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) for listing on the United States stock market. This move aims to diversify and expand its global investor base. In parallel, the CEO of SK Hynix is poised to unveil strategies designed to stabilize prices of DRAM chips. Additionally, the SK Group is actively exploring opportunities in the alternative energy sector, signaling its commitment to sustainable and forward-looking business practices.
