On March 16 local time, Micron Technology announced that its HBM4 production line commenced mass production and shipment in the first quarter of this year, with the initial products being a 36GB 12-layer stacked version specifically designed for the Vera Rubin platform. The performance of HBM4 is approximately 2.3 times higher than that of the previous generation HBM3E, with power efficiency improved by over 20%. Additionally, Micron has provided early samples of a 16-layer stacked 48GB HBM4 to customers, representing a 33% increase in single-chip capacity.
