Today marks the global debut of China’s self-developed T1200-grade ultra-high-strength carbon fiber, a breakthrough that fills a critical gap in the global market and represents a significant leap forward for China’s advanced material sector. Developed by the China National Building Material Group (CNBM), this carbon fiber has achieved a production capacity on the scale of hundreds of tons, making China the first country in the world to accomplish large-scale production of this grade of carbon fiber.
With a diameter less than one-tenth that of a human hair, its tensile strength is ten times that of ordinary steel, while its density is just one-fourth that of steel. Combining exceptional lightness with superior strength, this carbon fiber is set to play a pivotal role in strategic emerging industries such as aerospace, defense, and renewable energy.
