Applied Materials, a U.S.-based company, announced on Tuesday that it will collaborate with Micron Technology and SK Hynix to jointly develop next-generation chips crucial for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. Micron and SK Hynix will participate in the development as founding partners of Applied Materials' 'Equipment and Process Innovation and Commercialization Center (EPIC)'. Applied Materials plans to invest $5 billion in the EPIC center for semiconductor equipment R&D.
