On March 6, multiple media sources, among which was Cailian Press, disclosed that Sanan Optoelectronics, in partnership with Tsinghua University and China Mobile, has made a significant breakthrough in the realm of Micro LED optoelectronic devices and high-speed optical communications. They have successfully integrated Micro LED technology into data center optical interconnect scenarios. The trio collectively developed a Micro LED light source device capable of high-speed modulation. It is anticipated that this device will boast a 3dB modulation bandwidth exceeding 7GHz and an NRZ-OOK data transmission rate that could surpass 10Gb/s. Moreover, the energy consumption per unit of transmission for this cutting-edge technology is a mere 5% of that of traditional copper cable solutions. This development is in line with the growing trend of high-density interconnects in data centers and offers an innovative approach for next-generation green information transmission networks.
