Following its withdrawal from the consumer-grade memory and SSD markets, Micron has shifted its strategic focus to the enterprise and AI domains. The company has just launched the world's inaugural 256GB ultra-high-capacity LPDDR5X SOCAMM2 memory module and has already begun supplying samples to customers. This innovative memory module employs a single-chip 32Gb LPDDR5X DRAM Die, offering a 50% boost in capacity compared to its predecessor, while simultaneously reducing power consumption by more than 20%. It effectively bridges the performance and cost divide between HBM and DDR, presenting a compelling solution for the market.
