On March 4, Bernstein analysts predicted in a research report that the price surge of memory chips may slow down around the end of 2026. The report noted that after most contract negotiations in the first quarter were completed, DRAM contract prices in February saw a slightly larger increase compared to January. Despite PC and mobile device customers lowering their DRAM demand forecasts, server demand remains strong. Bernstein believes that influenced by a possible significant decline in consumer demand, price growth will slow down later this year. As memory chip companies increase capital expenditures to boost production capacity, memory chip prices may start to decline in 2027.
