On March 2nd, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company (MGC) released a notice regarding price increases. The notice stated that, due to the skyrocketing prices of raw materials, along with escalating labor and transportation expenses, the profitability of its CCL (Copper Clad Laminate), prepreg, and CRS (Copper Reduction Substrate) products within the electronic materials division has seen a significant decline. Consequently, the company has made the decision to implement a 30% price hike for these products, starting from April 1st. MGC holds a prominent position as a global leader in the realm of high-end packaging substrate materials. It's worth noting that prior to this, Resonac, a Japanese semiconductor material behemoth, had already raised the prices of CCL and adhesive films by 30%, with the increase taking effect from March 1st.
