On February 27, 2026, IC design giant MediaTek announced that its subsidiary has purchased 1,722,759 special shares of Ayar Labs, a U.S.-based co-packaged optics (CPO) startup, at approximately US$52.24 per share, with a total transaction amount of around US$90 million, representing an equity stake of approximately 2.4%.
