January Sees Record-High Chip Equipment Sales in Japan for the Same Period

Data released by the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan reveals that in January 2026, the sales of chip equipment manufactured in Japan (based on a three-month moving average, inclusive of exports) soared to 427.508 billion yen. This represents a year-on-year increase of 2.6%, marking the 24th rise in 25 months. Notably, monthly sales have remained above 300 billion yen for 27 consecutive months and have exceeded 400 billion yen for 15 months running. This achievement not only sets a new record high for sales in the same month historically but also ranks fifth in terms of single-month sales performance.
