In 2021, with the launch of its 12th-generation Core processors, which boasted the Alder Lake architecture, Intel made a groundbreaking move in the x86 architecture landscape by introducing a hybrid design. This innovative design seamlessly integrated P-cores (Performance cores) and E-cores (Efficiency cores) for the first time. Nevertheless, it appears that Intel's future CPU architectures might take a step back towards a unified design, doing away with the differentiation between P-cores and E-cores. This conjecture stems from a LinkedIn job posting by Intel, seeking a Senior CPU Verification Engineer to join their Unified Core team, with an attractive annual salary range of $140,000 to $270,000.
