Recently, during the Goldman Sachs Virtual Investor Conference, SK Hynix made an announcement that the global memory sector has now fully transitioned into a seller's market. Driven by a significant uptick in AI-related demand and supply constraints stemming from limited cleanroom space, memory chip prices are anticipated to keep climbing. Presently, SK Hynix's stockpiles of DRAM and NAND have dwindled to roughly a four-week supply, leaving no client capable of fully satisfying their needs. Given that HBM production capacity is fully booked until 2026, the scarcity of standard DRAM will further amplify suppliers' leverage, compelling the industry chain to embark on long-term contract discussions to ensure a stable supply.
