The conflict between Geely's affiliate, Vertex Electric, and Sunwoda has been settled, resulting in Sunwoda consenting to make compensation payments totaling RMB 608 million in installments. Nevertheless, Sunwoda is now embroiled in fresh difficulties: the Korea Trade Commission (KTC) has formally taken on a patent infringement lawsuit initiated against it by the patent consortium known as 'Tulip Innovation.' The lawsuit claims that the lithium-ion battery cells and battery packs produced by Sunwoda, which are utilized in Geely vehicles, infringe upon crucial patents related to electrode separator technology. The vehicle model at the center of this dispute is Geely's top-selling hybrid SUV in the South Korean market.
