In January 2026, South Korea witnessed a remarkable surge in its semiconductor exports, which soared to US$20.5 billion. This represented a staggering 102.7% increase compared to the same period the previous year, marking the second consecutive month that exports surpassed the US$20 billion mark. Propelled by this robust performance in the semiconductor sector, South Korea's overall exports for January climbed to US$65.85 billion, reflecting a significant 33.9% year-on-year growth and setting a new record high.
