Intel has officially started rolling out its third-generation AI super-resolution technology, XeSS 3, through the latest Windows graphics driver. This technology provides multi-frame generation capabilities for Arc Alchemist and the upcoming Battlemage graphics cards, and extends support to the Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake, Arrow Lake-S, Arrow Lake-H, and the latest Panther Lake processor platforms. Powered by AI, XeSS 3 inserts up to three AI-generated frames between two originally rendered frames, boosting the output frame rate to 2x, 3x, or 4x the original level, thereby enhancing game smoothness and reducing screen tearing and artifacts. This technology supports all Core Ultra processors and graphics cards with Alchemist architecture and above, and is launched alongside the Panther Lake platform. Additionally, XeSS 3 is fully compatible with all games that already support XeSS 2, meaning that over 50 existing XeSS 2 games and more than 250 XeSS 1/1.3 games can be directly supported without the need for developer adjustments.
