On January 27th, the A-share market staged a remarkable recovery from its earlier lows, with all three key benchmark indices—the Shanghai Composite Index, the Shenzhen Component Index, and the ChiNext Index—finishing the day in positive territory. Specifically, the Shanghai Composite Index edged up by 0.18%, while the Shenzhen Component Index registered a 0.09% gain. The star performer, however, was the ChiNext Index, which soared by 0.71%.

In terms of sectoral performance, the semiconductor industry emerged as a clear leader, along with precious metals, space-based photovoltaic technology, and commercial aerospace. This robust showing was underscored by numerous stocks within these sectors hitting their daily price ceilings. Notably, Hua Hong Semiconductor stood out, surging over 7% to achieve an all-time high.

In contrast, the battery industry chain faced headwinds, with Tianji shares experiencing a significant drop of more than 7%. Looking at the broader market, individual stock performance was mixed, with over 3,400 stocks across the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing exchanges closing in negative territory. Nevertheless, trading activity remained brisk, with total turnover surpassing 2.92 trillion yuan.
