When discussing the obstacle that is constraining capacity expansion in the face of soaring AI demand, he made it unequivocally clear that an ample power supply is a prerequisite for unbridled capacity growth. TSMC has earmarked a capital expenditure plan of up to $56 billion for 2026, with the bulk of the funds allocated to expanding advanced process capacity. Nevertheless, despite this substantial investment, the shortfall in the supply of AI chips is not expected to diminish in the near future.
