On January 15, MediaTek announced the launch of two cutting-edge mobile chips: the Dimensity 9500s and the Dimensity 8500. The Dimensity 9500s stands out with its advanced 3nm process technology and an all-large-core CPU configuration. This configuration encompasses one Cortex-X925 super-large core, operating at a remarkable 3.73GHz, alongside three Cortex-X4 super-large cores and four Cortex-A720 large cores.
The chip integrates an Immortalis-G925 GPU, which not only supports hardware-level ray tracing technology but also enables gaming at a smooth 165 frames per second. Additionally, it incorporates a flagship-grade NPU, facilitating on-device AI capabilities such as real-time live photo editing.
On the other hand, the Dimensity 8500 is built on a 4nm process and features a CPU with eight Cortex-A725 large cores, reaching a maximum main frequency of 3.4GHz. This chip supports LPDDR5X 9600Mbps memory and is equipped with a Mali-G720 GPU. Compared to its predecessor, it boasts a 25% increase in peak performance and a 20% reduction in power consumption at equivalent performance levels.
