Additionally, the Ministry of Industry convened a meeting with delegates from leading South Korean semiconductor firms to deliberate on potential countermeasures. The preceding day, Wednesday, saw the U.S. White House announce a significant 25% increase in tariffs on certain cutting-edge chips.
